Tablet are definitely awesome - But if you scoot back to the start of the thread, the shingle, tortoise, cockatiel - All done with a laptop touchpad x-x So they definitely arent a necessity, but I just greatly prefer it~

Defiantly! If you scan things in you can always colour them digitally with just a mouse! Thats what I used to do! ^^

Love my tablet though; it does make things much easier and you really really don't need an expensive one! ^^

The brand Wacom does reliable tablets. I got the bamboo one years and years ago for about £30ish and it still works! ^^ They don't make it anymore unfortunately...But their bottom of the line is much better now though, but possibly a little more pricey?

Fraid I dont know many other brands, but there are some other good ones out there!

I cant stand touchpads!! I have to use a mouse!! X.X

I meanwhile have always had dodgy brands like Hanovan and one I cant recall as my parents have always brought them before I got a chance to get one for myself They're cheap, but meh, they work~ (Except the one at the moment is dodge in ps, although some bamboos have that problem, so who knows~) Make sure you get a decent size one - The small ones are no good for art!

Haven't heard of any problems with bamboos myself, but I'm not doubting you! There probably are some dodgy ones out there! Small tablets are alright, I was fine with my tiny Bamboo One for years. But once you move up a size you can never go back!!! XD Mmm....so much space...

I used draw on my laptop with a touch pad for years xD I got pretty good at it too (for my level of ability at the time) if I may say so myself. I know my brother hates touch pads and laptops with a passion, but each to their own. I actually liked the touch pads because you can use it in places where you can't use a mouse and it would alsp keep my brother away from my laptop

No real art of actual living reptiles, but I noticed that on the first page there was some Pern art. So, here's some of mine! (R.I.P. Anne McCaffrey)

I really love your version of the Wher, though Toxique. I've always envisioned them as the bulldogs of the group; stocky, wrinkly, more brawn than brain.

Anyway, I do intend to eventually have at least one image drawn up of Ainsley looking posh XD So I'll get that up as soon as I have it!

Lovely work! Im glad someone else envisioned the firelizards as having 4 legs when in a lot of the cover art they only have 2!

I still have so many of the pern books left to read!!

I think firelizards have to have 6 limbs (4 legs + 2 wings). The basic design of all pernese animals comes from the same 6-limbed ancestors. Fire lizards (later engineered into dragons and watchwhers) as well as wherries and tunnel-snakes. The 4-limbed animals (runnerbeasts, burdenbeasts, etc) are all from terran stock, thus the 4-limb design of our world. McCaffery did an amazing job of keeping the science real in her books. I wish I could have met her before she passed away, she's an idol to me.

In regards to the art though, fantastic My favorite part has to be the faceting g of the watchwher's eye. The fire lizard is gorgeous as well. I need to trick a scientist into inventing one for me...

Yup, all Pernese creatures have at least six limbs, all Earth descendants have the four.

I don't really understand the Fannon split tail, though. In the books it's not really heavily focused on, but at least in the Dragonlover's Guide to Pern they do state that the tails are pointed and that the numbweed plant has leaves like a dragon's tail. I would have gone with the point, but this was for a Pern RP forum, so I figured I'd just go with the "norm."

Ill have to give LTD another try. Most of the time Im quite happy to stick with regular Session.


A recent find this last summer has been Drop Top Amber Ale from Widmer. Also excellent stuff, IMO.
