LOL I hate to waste materials, so "living on the edge" makes me have terrible anxiety

it is never a waste to practice and fail a lot with artist materials.
if anything, it is a waste not to learn how to use them properly by using them a lot!

so just use as much as you want of whatever you want. it is good practice even if the results arent instant, but gradual.

even if you dont do a shingle, you will still have to make the scales well, so it might not be so far away to make a shingle.

take photos of the material and process!

Thanks Linnea! I really do have almost panic attacks when I have to use new materials to me...but this does help
So far, looks like Centalians are in the lead! I will see if I have time this week to try and make it! IF you havent voted, please do! I may try and do them in order from most votes to least. I'm most likely going to make them all

I find that Im perfectly fine with wasting materials if I set out to 'waste' them in the first place, if that makes sense? (Like I dont intend to actually try to make something, or Im expecting it to not work or Im just trying something out).

But if I mess up something Ive been spending ages on, or feel like Im not going to finish a $500 costume before i need it (Whats currently happening x.x) I get really stressed and pretty much loose all passion to work on it
