Brrrrr.....
For those of you in the northern hemisphere enjoying your sun and heat, we are in the middle of winter down here in oz. Regional night temps for me give us frosty and foggy mornings as low as -4 C (24 F) and daytime temps 8-12 C (45-53 F).
Feel free to share your seasonal pics!

Sweet pictures! How do any reptiles and amphibians hide from the frost?

Ummm...up here in the Great White North we've got LOTS of reptiles (and amphibians) that do just fine in the cold - even down to -40 F
http://www.simplywildcanada.com/wild-sp ... of-canada/Most hibernate or some have special "anti-freeze" factors in their blood and cells so they can still be active in freezing weather like this Garter Snake

There would be Highland Blotchies brumating under this.

blotchies are quite remarkable
we dont get snow here but the odd decent hail storm that leaves inches of hail in outdoor cages for up to 3 days before it melts and the blotchies stay curled up in it exposed to the elements with no ill effects
i still cringe,but yeah,trully remarkable

Didn't even know it snowed down under! And reptiles out and about?
Truly an amazing place, sure wish I lived there!

It sure does snow in Australia! The southern eastern states get really cold in winter. A lot of people travel down to the snow fields for skiing and such this time of year. Supplemented by snow machines, but still snows!
The reptiles would be hiding rather than out and about.

I'm guessing you are in Canberra.
It was the same here yesterday afternoon with snow. Two weeks ago we had a serious bushfire not far away.

Ahhh, Canberra, where the fun never stops. That's what it's known for, right? The fun capital?
I was just in Hobart Tasmania recently too but missed by a few days the best snow they've had for 30 years!! Always in the wrong place...
Lots of snow records lately splashy07 and very late in winter. We are supposed to only have a couple more weeks until spring starts. We'll see on that one.

Sure you don't live in Melbourne Ali, because you seem to be getting 20 different seasons a day over there
