Outdoor enclosure pics for agg girl

heres some pics for agg girl,the wire is concreted into the ground with rapid set and stapled to the treated pine posts.The water runs through the wire,the middle is built up with clay then pine shavings on top.Various sheets of colourbond are placed on the pine shavings.Let the grass etc grow to provide shade in summer,ime going to put a very thick layer of dry leaves all around and shelter the tin from heat in summer.At least with the NSW alpine blotched,they dont like to get too hot in summer espescially when they are gravid.Shingles are inside as its too moist where i live ive found,everything else including the south eastern blueys,NSW blotchys.turtles and heap of spiders? no problem.I think all the spiders like the dryness and insects in the pine shavings.

Dunno dragon baby Just dont want them ta be blue tongue eating spiders,some big ones there too,"Besiders Spiders" colins quality captive bred arachnids

Thats a mint sized enclosure there mate, the spiders should keep the flies at bay if nothing else, I'd be worried about stepping on the alpines when burried

The lizards are under the tin in the pine shavings leigh ive just lifted the tin up to show the pine substrate for the picture,some of these spiders are big enough to eat little garden skinks we get here,flys are just appetizers Ime interested to see how the alpines breed this year in the new set up,i suspect they will breed early as they get more sunlight thamn what they had in the old cage.

I am sitting here kicking myself for not seeing these pictures sooner. We were at a soccer tournament and you must have posted then. Colin, you have definitely set the standard for outdoor enclosures. I wish my hubby and I had half the carpentry skills that you have. I've started my enclosure but I need to borrow a heavier duty saw. If I keep staring at these pictures of your enclosure, I may need to scrap what I've done and start over. What lucky little blueys (and other critters) you have.

very nice colin,im sure the alpines will love it,do u still have the land mullet,it was u that had a landy to wasnt it,hmmm or is my brain going bonkers,lol,oh and id love to get a couple of your juvie alpines if u have any anytime,such beautiful blotches,ive read in here that your nsw alpines dont like the warmth,like some of yours that live in melb now,i have vic alpines,from north east vic area,jet black bright yellow color variety,mine seem to take the melb climate fine,food for thought anyways
