You will see loads of eating and activity now till about May. It's their time to shine! Good weather, long days, and lots of grubs and bugs in the garden to enjoy. Do the bogong moths hit up there? They's good eating! And the Chrissy beetles, too  If only it would rain and the snails would come back  I found a solitary one on Sunday night and I always think when I see just one that it might be the 'queen' snail and I should leave it! But I couldn't resist and the name's went into the hat and Jubby was the winner!

Enjoy him while he's little, you won't recognise him in three or four months!

 I think you should have let them rock, paper, scissor it to see who got the snail!

I don't know if we get them moths or not...
Whenever the front light is on we usually get some hanging around, guess i could catch some of them.

Bogongs are a pain in the bum (particularly if you don't have fly screens and french doors like me!) but they're only around for a couple of weeks before they keep migrating. Around Sydney, you see drifts of them piled up near bus stops and around steps, all the ones that died in the night (no nooky for them ones :hehe:). Santos loves them, but they're a bit smaller this year.

Cicadas are almost here too and they're also a good feed (if you can catch one!). I just thought of it because I can hear a real half-arsed effort from one outside the window right now. I guess he's only just hatched!

How's your shingles going? Remember to give them lots of ventilation when the weather turns muggy!

Well i think they must only be a sydney thing!
My sister in law brought me over some big garden worms and they were a treat. As soon as i put them in they were pounched on and quickly gobbled up. They are doing fine, i keep both of the glass doors open a bit on each end. Not enough for them to get out though and it keeps the humidity down to about 10, sometimes 20. They have a good sleeping routine though, go to bed about the same time every night and stay there, don't wake up till morning whereas my bluey he is often walking around at night so he comes out for a cuddle.
