The only doll I ever got, my brother and I dissected (spelling?) its eyes because I wanted to know why they closed when the thing layed down. Turns out there are little magnets in those eyeballs that make 'em shut when they lay down, and open when they're upright!

I've only ever worn a dress once in my adult life, for my sister's wedding, and that was only because I had to.
Did anyone else have a Mum who dressed your siblings the same? My Mum did .... and in home made clothes! Years later when she took up making clothes for the charity fetes at school, we realised how awful she was at making clothes and we wondered in all the photographs whether if you looked from behind you'd see a heap of material held together with staples and sticky tape.
