So the past week i've been...

Postby Blotch » Thu Nov 15, 2007 8:34 pm

...Driving to and from work (as most of us do), and I've notice a blotched bluey that has been hit by a car. Poor guy, must've had his head run over cuz his Body looks in tact, but the head looks kinda everywhere.

I was thinking about scooping him up and burying him, but it's a busy part of the road, and I don't wanna end up like him. From what i could tell he looked really gorgeous. His colors are bright, and he was around 1ft long (with head). Mind you, this is a judgement made from my car, so his coloring must be good.

Anyway, i thought I'd share that bad news with you all, I'm now going to go back to thinking about a new viv system.

Adios mi amigos!

I had the same thing, saw a big eastern on the side of the road as my mum was dropping me at the train station so i told her on her way back to check on it and move it off the road. But yeah, head was squashed but body was still perfect :(
Then my little brother called me saying there was a big one under his god kennel and the bulldog was trying to kill it so what should he do.
So he did as i said and released him in the bush next door...he did ask me if i wanted it too btw so i had to inform him its illegal plus i dont have a spare tank anyways.

Same here, you see lots with squashed heads but the body is still in good nick. Well, not after a few days  I think it's cause they bask on the side of the road or else they try to cross.

I had a half a one in the backyard a few weeks ago, in between a rock wall. Not sure if it got stuck or maybe a kooka dropped it. Thought at first my dog was up to his old tricks, but the poor old bugger's way beyond that now. Good for the lizards, not so good for him.

Freaked me out but because I went to get it to bury it but it was only the front half. He was only a youngun.
Sadly, tis the season for lots of squashies

Road kill is upsetting, we get it in late summer but with pheasants nearly every 1/2 mile on the country roads.

If they can quickly get to the roadkill here, they use the meat for different feeding events for the less fortunate.
