longer than 20 years since aus animals were legally allowed to be exported out of aus, just be careful as people just do dodgys to try and get illegals legaaly into there country, things like stumpys draw big bickies over there hence people go to the effort of risking being caught to illegally aquire them so they can sell them over there,id be checking with the so called museum ect as to the validity of if it was in the possession ect ect

Looks like *somebody* bought her (not me)

Postby Celeste » Sun Dec 16, 2007 12:58 pm

It looks like somebody bought her, but it wasn't me. (I decided against it). I hope she found a good home!

If the person who bought her is on this forum, let me know -- I have an unpaired 10-year-old male, and it wouldn't hurt to try to get them together.

(I need to start a shinglebacks "personals" site...! "Lonely male seeks female") ;->

Has anyone had any experience with importing animals from Europe? It appears that there a more "robust" Shingle population over there and it would seem that it would be more likely to be able to find an animal there...

HOWEVER, I know nothing about importation of animals and I would guess that it could be very stressful and dangerous? Are there breeders that have International shipping arrangements that could simplify this process? I am REALLY interested in finding a Shingle (or pair) at a reasonable age...and price (knowing full well how much they cost).

I am just curious about any options that might be available to those interested in that?

Importers

Postby Celeste » Mon Dec 17, 2007 2:09 pm

Yes! Two of my shinglebacks came through an importer in Florida. I also *think* I have info for a local (Southern California) importer. I'll PM you with info later tonight (I don't have it with me right now).

From corresponding with another Corucia person in England who was in the process of getting some shinglebacks, it sounds like they are a lot cheaper over there, too. (Of course, I have no idea how much it costs to bring them into the country).

P.S. I guess that older female *wasn't* sold -- she's back in the classifieds again:

:D Great! Thanks Celeste, I will be very interested in that information.

That is interesting that the old female is back on Kingsnake! Did they tell you that she was sold? Hmm, must have fallen through for some reason...

Hope I can find some good info in regards to getting the animals over here! Right now it seems like the best option...plus, hopefully, it could provide a few more bloodlines to work with! ;)
