Jazz's favorite meat

Postby ewstokes » Tue Dec 18, 2007 10:32 am

I hound his favorite meat. He seems to like it a lot. Just wanted to make sure this was okay to feed.

He also seemed to like the Mesquite Smoked Chicken

Can you post a picture of the back with the ingredients and nutritional content? It may be ok, but it also might not be.

Heres a pic of what you requested:

If you cant read it, the ingredients include in the exact order:

INGREDIENTS: Chicken Breast, Water, Rotisserie Seasoning (Maltodextrin, Salt, Dextrose, Natural Flavors, Autolyzed Yeast Extract, Modified Corn Starch, Spics, Artificial Flavors) Modified Food Starch, Sodium Lactate, Carrageenan, Salt, Dextrose, Sodium Phosphate, Sodium Diacetate, Sodium Nitrate.

Im guessing from the ingredients its not good because of the seasoning. Perhaps the non seasoned one would work?? Lemme know guys. Thanks again.

I wouldn;t use it. There are carbs in there, why are there carbs in chicken? That tells me it is highly processed. Also might be why he could be throwing up.

Nearly all deli meats are highly processed and maxed out with salt, that's why they have such a different taste.

I say definitely no to deli meats (on caresheet too).

Good luck.

Deli meats have nitrates in them which are terrible for humans, let alone Blueys! Really salty too.
My guy adores turkey burger and chicken. He also loves hardboiled and scrambled egg. (he gets human grade food, we give him kibbles off our plates. And here I always said I'd never let an animal eat off my plate!
Chuffie may also get to try a lobster roach or two, depending on his reaction to them. . . Has anyone tried these for their Blueys?

WAYYYYYYYY Too much Salt!!!!
I thought about using it one time, saw the Salt content and said heck no!

Also, carbs are a bad thing? They increase weight do they not? this isn't always bad.

Raw egg is fine - just real messy and when your skink walks through it, and they will, it gets everywhere and it dries on them and they get sticky and it's a hassle. I half scramble an egg. This way it's still kinda raw, but is also solid. Boiled eggs are fine.

What's a lobster roach? I agree with tattoo! doesn't sound right.

Sorry, Tattoo, had to getcha back for the "poo-nami" comment on Ping and Hijinks' thread.
I love lobster, and I had to admit, the roaches weren't bad either.
(to handle, not eat!) :hurl:

Has anyone tried feeding roaches to their blueys? Zach? Any Forum Aussies? Anyone?
