LittleFoot made an appearance....

Postby LittleFoot » Sat Dec 29, 2007 12:56 pm

After about a month, LittleFoot made an appearance this morning shortly after I turned on his lights. He probably overheard me talking about adding pink CareFresh to his tank

No tongue shot for YOU

It got under 40 degrees last night so we temporarily put the two smallest torts with the uros (they have since been rehomed in my guest bathroom bathtub) They all ate their veggies nicely though the smaller female had this 'are you kidding me' look on her face.

My daughter got two leopard geckos for Christmas. This is the male named Rocky, he is pretty mellow.

This is the female named Cutie 5....she is obsessed with the name Cutie. This one has a bit of an attitude and gave my daughter her first reptile bite. No tears and she still holds her but says Cutie needs to loose her attitude. Not the best picture since i can see my reflection, but she didnt want to come out this morning.

That's quite the jungle you have going there Pippi! I love the "no tongue shot for you" pose. Littlefoot actually can butch-it-up when he's not clad in pink florals. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing the pictures of your zoo with us! Everyone told us to get a leopard gecko for our first herp but we talked to petstore employees and they all admitted that these were a bit bitey. My youngest still wants a LG but I'm going to try to talk her out of it. I'm not much of a cricket/mealworm fan either. Love the leopard gecko swagger and colors though---yours are too cute. Maybe Cutie will warm up over time. Kudos to your daughter for not giving up. My daughters have become disinterested with our giant millipede just b/c he poops on them. (How can you blame the poor guy!)
Love the torts and uros too. Are yours U. malis? They have the neatest prehistoric look. Are yours friendly? I've seen some with bad attitudes but, then again, many of them are wild caught.
What kind of torts are those? Precious!
Poor Little Foot. No pink Carefresh for him!

The female on the right is an egyptian...the male on the left is a mali....my female mali was still sleeping in her hide when i took the pictures. They are all very mellow, especially the male....he is the mellowest uro. The females are a little skittish but all the kids can still handle them, they just dont like quick movements.

The two torts are sulcattas...the bigger one is about 3 and a half years old and the other one is 5 months old. They usually are outside in the tort pens but they are too small in the cold since their burrows are only about 18 inches deep...the bigger sulcattas have burrows 10 feet down so they stay nice and toasty warm. A friend of mine has a tortoise rescue and i have her overflow.

My daughter is 7 and loves animals...she has asthma and is allergic to hairy pets...she can only be around our horses in small doses. She isn't intimidated by anything.

Little foot has awesome coloring! Beautiful skink. I love all your other animals as well. I have considered Uros in the past, just dont have much more room (otherwise, i would have taken in Briggets Uros). When I went home for Christmas, the local petstore had an adult Leo forsale that was so tempting. They are cool geckos to own. And who doesnt love tortoises?
