My new shingle back
Hey guys, im new here and am here to learn *pulls notepad out*
I had a close friend who moved away. He had a shingle back and I had expreince in reptiles so I was the lucky person who got this guy, his about four years old, looks a little rough but over all doesnt look to bad.
My main question is how offten should I feed this guy, his not little by any means but his not fat, seems to be a healthy wait. At the moment I have a dish in there that has pellets in it, I leave that in there constatnly and top it up every now and then. I feed him a mixture of foods and veg, like strawberrys, carrots, meal worms and crickets.. Any idea on how often? And is it ok to leave the pellet dish in there? Or should I take it out?
Thank you for ur help.

Please check out the caresheet for feeding information. Feeding strawberries and carrots is not nutritious, nor are meal worms or crickets.
The Humane Society took Michael Vick's pit bulls, asked for public money to help them, then decided it would be best to kill them... adopt from No Kill shelters http://www.roas.petfinder.com

Congrats on your fortunate discovery of an awesome pet! Where's the pictures? Now that you've gotten the caresheet, you'll be fixing all kinds of yummy meals I'm sure (shoot, all my animals get better quality food than me). Given that you have a free shingleback, shall we assume that you live in Oz-land?

Welcome to the insanity! Can't wait for pictures.
Saile, sadly I think Ziggi is in Aus, so I don't think you'll be getting to steal the turd anytime soon. Sorry.

I'm looking into getting another 3 skinks within a few weeks, so one of them will probably get the Skidamarink name.

It's a song, dunno if any aussies may know it.
Skidamarink, a dink, a dee, skidamarink a doo, I love you.
I love you in the morning, and in the afternoon,
I love you in the evening, and underneath the moon.
Skidamarink, a dink, a dee, skidamarink a doo, I love you.
There's more to it, but that's all I really know. My mother used to sing this to us sometimes, still does it to annoy us occasionally. I also sing it to the animals at the shelter sometimes. I just like the song, and think it works particularly well for a skink.

That was the theme song to a kid's show....I can't remember which one though! It has a little dance that I used to do in front of the TV!
