Just wanted to get some second opinions while I try to figure out if I want to get into this..."open the can".
Any help with likely "visual sexing" of this Indo?

Any help with likely "visual sexing" of this Indo?
Just contemplating an Indo breeding project and found this ad...compared to my Fenix (Male), this really appears to be a female, but I know how hard it is to truly figure that out...

Well, that is my reason for asking everyone else...my bias due to my only Indo experience, i.e. Fenix. My Indo (Fenix) has huge bulges at the base of his tail compared to little-to-none on this one, as well as a much larger/wider head-to-body ratio than this animal. I know it can never be guaranteed...just looking for some head nodding or shaking from the forum...
I haven't been able to get any good pictures of Fenix's "bulges" but they can be partially seen in my gallery as well as his wide head. He has dropped plugs multiple times, so I am all but positive Fenix is a he...only thing left is the baby dance...

I know what you're saying about the bulge. Tattoo has them very clearly but I think they can be hard to detect in a photo. I thought one side of the tail on the indo for sale (belly shot up near the person's wrist) looked like a bit of a bulge. I do agree the figure could be considered girly ... so hard to see for sure. It sure is a beauty though. Would you be totally broken hearted if it turned out to be a male?

No, I wouldn't be broken hearted, especially if it is as tame as it appears! Love the pink belly, too!
My Indo would FREAK if I held him like that...I think I do see that possible bulge on the wrist side...the owner seems open to questions, I will see if she can send a few more tail area pics, etc. Thanks for your feedback!

I'm going to toss this out for consideration --
All I have are the shinglebacks -- I don't have any other Tiliqua species. But it looks to me like the males have *approximately* 20 rows of scales between armpit and groin, while the females have about 26. (That appears to hold true for all five I have). It's really hard to count these rows, but the difference is so pronounced that it's pretty easy to sort them once you have a rough idea of what to look for.
Here's a side view of a female:
And here's a side view of a male:
Try it for yourself.
Can anyone confirm whether this works on other Tiliqua?
(Of course, none of the pictures of that BTS shows a clear view of her/his sides...)

if I had to guess just from the pics, I'd say Female, however - it's not something i'd put money on. I'd want to feel around the tail base to make a proper call.
