cortizone

Postby ewstokes » Thu Jan 17, 2008 12:48 am

I checked on his mouth sore this monday. (right now im in madison and hes being taken care of in milwaukee until this saturday.) it seems to, if anything, be getting worse since i stopped putting cortizone on it. does cortizone help? it sure looked like it helped when I was using it. Even when I put antibacterial cream on it it doesnt do much. the cortizone was the only thing that was working.

If the sore isn't getting better with improved housing and diet, you might want to consider the vet visit. Cortisone treats inflammation. It doesn't treat the underlying problem.

I still think that it is worth asking a vet about my much maligned previous posts on the subject -even if just to discount. Cortisone cream may cause its own problems in time. It's never looked like a bacterial infection to me.
