enclosure size question
Just a quick question. I recently bought a tank that's 48 x 18 x 21 for my BTS. I just realized that that is a bunch of wasted high and was thinking of returning it for something with more floor space. The only issue is that returning it will be a hassle due to transportation. Is it worth it to return it or should I just keep it. Is there anyway I can encorporate the hight so my BTS can get maximum use out of the space?

If the 21 refers to the height, it all depends on if you have lights hung from inside, if so no worries,if you want to make use of this you can build upwards to a basking spot, like a pile or stones,or you can put a basking or feeding spot on stilts and you'd have a hide under it.What kind of light/heat source will you use? Either way that's a good amount of floor space for a Bluey, 18 deep is a little thin for a full grown adult, but being 4feet long will conpensate some what.
MMMmmmmm... Something???????

Yep, the 17 is hight. I was planing on using a pile like you suggested and was also concerned about the 18 depth. I think I'll call the store and see if they have anything a little shorter/wider in the same price range. Seems silly to waste so much space.

I built my own and it's 24" high, maybe slightly taller, the light is hung internally from the top, its front opening and I like the fact that I can get my head and shoulders in easily to do cleaning. Is the one you've got front or top entry? Blueys do seem to prefer being approached front on, as opposed to an over head attack.

Top entry. And I was planning on having my lighting external. I'm always paranoid my skink will manage to get up to the light somehow and burn itself.
