I've seen shinglebacks, easterns & lowland blotchies in coastal dunes & heathland. I've seen easterns & lowland blotchies on the beach too.

Ok, this calls for a WINKLE   picture at the beach! :woo:

Glad to see someone finally got to the salt being expelled thru the nose part of the story. I heard somewhere they sneeze to expel the accumulated matter in the salt gland. I think it was in that link Blotch posted with the guy talking about a snout to tail check up of your bts and what to look for.

A big welcome to Susi-lou :welcome: 1000 points for licking your blueys excrement. What a woman! :ohyes:

Also I've had a face full of Iguana snotsalt more than once in the past, such a dirty girl she was,and I'm sure she thought it was funny.

susi-lou wrote:Thanks Zoe,

I ended up taking Mork to be Vet and he thought he had an infection and suggested it was conjunctivitis. This then resulted in 10 days of antibiotics (injecting into those tiny legs was horribly traumatic for me and mork.) The result was: no change.

It has ebbed and flowed over time. So i guess you are right and i need to check the salt levels in his food.

Talk about a revived thread!

Okay, I'm an eye scientist, so forgive me for this rant. It's a personal pet peeve of mine when vets prescribe iv drugs for an eye infection. Antibiotics can be hard on organs. Why expose the rest of the system to a drug that only needs to be administered to the eye? Most importantly, if it's conjunctivitis, a systemic treatment will not reach the conjunctiva, thereby making the systemic med completely useless. :nono:

Marie, Thank you! It drives me crazy how both vets and doctors will over-prescribe antibiotics for the possibility of something they don't even know for sure is there! :nono:

The salt glands make sense to me. And Lea, that Winkle and other Stumpies on the beach are sooooooooooo Cuuuuute!
