Postby Kymbadina » Tue Feb 12, 2008 4:38 pm

Well it was my stepbrothers 9th b-day. And of course, Chomper stole the show. And tried his first raw egg..didnt go so hot. Just made a mess. I dont know how you get tongue pictures..I'm having a hard time.
And we had a snow day today so I got some pictures of Chomper taking a nap with me.Image

when you say that the feeding of the egg didn't go so well, do you mean that chomper wasn't interested? If so - try breaking the yolk and mixing the egg like you're gonna make some scrambled eggs, the Yolk has the egg smel that they love so much. As well as doing that, you can do what i do sometimes and it's not as messy. Crack an egg, beat it for a second with a fork, Microwave it for 20secs. It should be still runny with some cooked parts. Stir it around to mix it all together, and wait for it to cool. Serve and get ready to be astounded with piggery!

I agree with Luke, this is what I did. Mixed it in a bowl ,then poured a bit back into the half shell

By doing it this way he'll be able to benefit from the calcium the shell has to offer, and some prefer the shell to the egg

Thanks!
He diffinatly didnt care about it..in fact he walked right through it..and that was the mess that resulted in a bath..
He eats them scrambled and cooked so I will try half cooking them. I feed him every morning too..that was mid day so he might not have been too hungry. spoiled little boy. Thanks for the advice! I'll try it out and let you know

Egg

Postby yankeefan » Wed Feb 13, 2008 11:52 am

I love the pics! I am dying to try an egg with our Peyton - I am just afraid of the shell - it won't scratch her throat?? I am miserably protective of her, I see all the pics of egg-ery - maybe I'll try the microwave idea. Hell, I love eggs, why not her??

Don't give the shell to her then. I don't give the shell to my blueys. They discard the snail shell, so i've never bothered giving them the egg shell.

Chomper is HANDSOME. Big wide bands and deep coloration -- I like this guy a lot.

Eggs are fun to feed -- I typically don't feed them straight out of brumation since they haven't eaten usually in months and their systems might not fully be up to par yet as they were in such an inactive state for so long. That is completely just me -- didn't hear that anywhere.
