Does anyone know of any online places that sell single backs? At a good price ...
I was looking in to maybe buying one this summer ...
Thanks!

Yeah, you will be spending about $2000, on average for a shingleback here in the states and it is VERY hard to find them here (at least for sale and at a "reasonable", $2000, price).
You probably won't find any good, captive bred, animals online at the moment...it is just the beginning of the breeding season...I suggest you wait until June/July or so and then check out this site (Zach's babies and it seems many more are starting to attempt breeding), Ray Gurgui's site:
http://community-2.webtv.net/rgurgui/ThunderBayHerp/
Andrew Seike's site:
http://seikereptiles.com/SeikeReptiles/index.html
Another good Northern breeder:
http://www.captivebred.com/Available%20 ... ongues.htm
You can also find many on www.kingsnake.com, but I would be wary of getting an animal from advertisers there...ask many questions and, if they don't respond, then don't buy! I have found many Kingsnake dealers to be unresponsive and unknowledgeable.
There is also www.faunaclassifieds.com, but it is much less common to find blue tongues there.
If I were you I would go with one of the breeders here unless they don't have what you want.

Yes, Peach is the name of one of Zach's northerns...that name seems to have grown into a "Caramel" type name...all it really means is that it is an offspring of Peach.

Are they good tempered?
Great! That is definitely what I would recommend (and I am sure most people on the site). Zach's Northern Peach has some GREAT looking babies! I am sure that they are like most Northerns and have a "laid back" and good tempered attitudes, though you never really know until you have the babies. It also depends on the circumstances of their raising...so, in short a "good temperament" would likely be found in a Northern, but it would also involve interaction with the owner so that they get used to being handled and humans.

$2000 is a good price for a shingle. You often see them sold for $3000 - $5000.

I have a baby from Zach's northern Pearl from last year and he/she is amazing! Such a sweetheart. I don't think that you can go wrong with a northern from this site. They're all raised by responsible breeders and are socialized from birth.
