Isis is finally here!

It took me a long time to finally arrange a time to pick her up but she's here!!! If anyone can ID her or Santana let me know. I'm pretty sure that Isis is a female and Santana is a male based on their interactions. Isis is very fat. Her previous owner fed her mostly meat and live mice. I'm going to put her on a balanced diet to try and get her to normal weight. Any suggestions? Here are pictures. Sorry about the bad quality photos my flash broke.

Santana is a Northern, Isis a big IJ.

Isis is another great example of what could be called a Merauke....we're getting a lot of these lately! I usually start categorizing close calls between these two by the huskier heads of the IJ's.

+ 2.2 Irian Jaya (Slurpy, Nona, Sassy, Cool Moe Dee)
+ 1.1 Eastern (Eugene, Enzo)
+ 1.2 Northern (Niko, Pearl, Peach)

Santana is a northern, very nice looking. I like the pattern and colors. Isis confuses me, so I'm gonna agree with Zach. She has very neat lines running down her back, don't see that so often.

Go to the caresheet and download the food charts. Print them off and take them shopping with you. I love those charts. There should also be a food thread popping up soon for more ideas.

What's the difference between Merauke and IJ?




Just two different types of blueys, but a few experts consider them the exact same animal. I say your's is an IJ because it's so husky and large. Most Merauke have a thinner body, much longer thinner tail, and thinner more streamline head. Your guy has a standard fatty tail like an IJ, husky head and good sized beefy body. Plus, the markings look more IJ to me than Merauke. I would say IJ have the vertical thin lines more than Merauke do. And if you're a believer of the Indos x Easterns = IJ, then the vertical thin lines are a trait from scincoides! (easterns)
