Non-bluey rescue
I know that we are supposed to ask bluey related questions, but you guys are the only reptile people I trust (all in one place!) Would it be ok if I asked for help on a itty bitty boa I rescued?

Ok, well I'd appreciate any opinions! I bought an albino boa from a breeder who had gotten it back from someone who took care of it improperly. This person bought it last year as a baby and was trying to feed it food items that were way too big for it and caused it to regurgitate a lot. He is half the size of his litter mate and very skinny, but active and alert. The breeder suggested that I feed him a mouse fuzzy every ten days until he starts to look better. It seems like too little food to me, but then again his stomach lining will be messed up from regurgitation. How would you guys proceed?

i would proceed exactly as you have been informed, i am not experienced with that specific snake as we cannot keep them here, but i would probably go for a meal about 2 times the width of the snakes head. you can also inject mutton bird oil into the food item to help increase condition. then just keep the animal in optimal conditions and it should be up and running in a matter of weeks. usually after a few good feeds it will regain energy and you can start to offer larger meals less frequently. if the snake will not eat then that is a whole different area and will need to be explained in more detail

Start with the fuzzy every 10 days. After a few feeds, once his body isn't being damaged from regurgitation, you can offer more. I would actually start by not going bigger, but adding more. The snake will be fine with less food for a while, at least he isn't getting sick.

I have owned snakes in the past (roughly 4 different species). I have never experienced a snake regurgitate, so I will not give any advice. I dont feel that I "qualify" to. However, with that said, I do feel that it would probably be best to either follow the breeders advice (seeing that they are a responsible.knowledgable breeder) or just call your reptile vet and ask for their opinion.

Actually - this thread should be closed - and the topic moved to the OT thread. No-one is yelling at anyone. This is Not a life or death post, and it can be addressed on numerous other snake forums. i do not want to come across as heartless, That's not the case, I'm just clarifying a fact.
