I tried posting earlier but I think I messed it up
I got this blue tongue skink from a pet store and they told us he is an eastern bts. However upon researching it looks like it might be a different subspecies. Can you please help me identify so that he or she can have the best care.

Finding an Eastern in a pet shop would be quite uncommon unless you lived in Australia. That appears to be a Halmahera, which is an Indonesian import. They require 95+ basking temps and at the very least 70 percent humidity. If this is a recent acquisition I would also advise a vet check as they often come in with parasites.

I hope to God they did not charge you the price of an Eastern, which would be about four times that of a Halmahera.
