People are never going to change. It's up to folks like us to do what we can and hope the animals can do their part to adapt the best they can. We can't save them all, poor things.

Think I'm impressing you with my "b.itch of the century" persona which is not me at all. I just prefer animals - they have a better vibe about life.

Male lions kill the cubs sired by a previous male when they take over the pride. A lot of people around here get squeamish when we discuss feeding mice to blueys.
Nature is pretty much killing and death and sex. That's not to say it's not fascinating, and I love nature and I do prefer most animals to people, but that being said I *do* feel as if most people take an idealized view of the natural world.
That, and what we say we love most about animals tends to be what we project onto them (*human* emotions and mannerisms). Whatever happened to loving animals just for being animals, and not for how much they may seem like us?
