now i'm in a real predicament. i thought tomy really wanted worm and then when we started bringing him over he changed his mind. now worm is mine again and i already payed for the snake over the phone. it's kind of good because i was sad about worm but now i don't know what to do. i either need to trade skippy in but i feel bad about it, or see if they will cancel the deal. i'm such a dummy.

put Skippy in a smaller tank for now and then put the new snake in Skippy's tank. Skippy is so small he doesn't need all the room you are giving him yet.

you are right. i was thinking just that.
i've been feeling really depressed about the whole thing thinking i'm making a huge mistake and should have not done this right now when my life is crazy and money is so tight. but i feel like this snake is somehow worth it but that is crazy. i guess if anyone understands irrational thought regarding animals it's you guys.

i said you guys UNDERSTAND irrational thought!therefore you will condemn me less than say the avg. friend who doesn't give a crap about reptiles. and my new animal acquistions are far more irrational than anyone else's here could ever be because i'm probably the least stable of all of us.

maybe not stable financially, but you give all your animals a nice loving home with all the care they need. It's ok to be irrational, we understand :poor:

just look at Tiger, getting 8 blueys and doesn't have any room

thanks guys. i like the reassurance you give when everyone else tells me i've lost it. anyway, Quimby (my new ij carpet python) is home exploring his cage, and i didn't have to get rid of anyone!

i will get you pictures soon. he's adorable. my roommate who always take's care of my pets when i'm gone already says he's her favorite.
i have to change his name from quimby though because now that i have him home he's just not really a quimby. he's more like an oscar or more like a dopey tough looking pitbull or something. you guys will have to help me come up with a new name.
actually i was hoping that i had a girl snake finally and that i could name her some pretty girl name but i just don't know...
for some reason i'm thinking he's a boy because he seemed cheaper than their normal pet store price and i assume boys are usually cheaper/less in demand than females and breeders that sell to the store sex all their babies first and sell the males for less. i have no idea how i came to that assumption though.

Usually males are cheaper, but I think it depends more on the species sometimes. Did they have others of the same species that were cheaper or were you just comparing prices to other species they had?

other species. their adult jungle carpets are usually 250, i always thought ij carpets were typically more expensive than jungles, so that's what i was basing it off.

There's a difference when you talk age also - adults are going to be more expensive than a baby (generally regardless of gender).
