Jubby and the Turd are cute too. ;)

That was a Hustsman they found in the bananas, right?? Show us a pic!

yep, that was a huntsman. She has stopped laying sacs, but her babies are getting almost as large as her now!

Aww, that one doesn't look so horrible ^.^ I'd cuddle that. The other one just creeped me out with it's abnormally long front legs. That close up is awesome! I love the legs. Does it actually have spines, or are those a special type of hair? I like the fawn color. Thanks for the pics ^.^

Nice huntsman!

One of my versicolors decided to molt the week I was away for thanksgiving, and i found him dead on the bottom of his container. He never needed extra misting during molting, but I guess this dry winter air didn't go over well with him.

That is a gorgeous Huntsman! She's so soft looking! And I love how she's looking at the cam with all eight eyes in the second pic. Are the big black spikey bits on her legs hard or soft? Can you handle her? I bet she's crazy quick.
As long as I don't have a funnel 'pider bite my butt while I'm in the loo, I'll gladly visit Oz! :) Too many cool animals to pass up.
Now my only issue is actually getting on the darned plane. . .I HATE flying in airplanes. ( we had a really traumatic experience on the way to London two years ago) I'd rather use my own wings and migrate, but they're invisible to human eyes and not that strong!

none taken. I'm still far away from making the whole world love spiders. I'm getting close to getting everyone at work at least put them outside instead of killing them though...it's a start.

definitely not handleable. She is so fast and unpredictable that if I tried to hold her she'd run off and hide in my house somewhere and then I couldn't admire her. The spikey bits are rigid, but not like little rose thorns or anything.

 Sorry to hear that. My blue fang died last night and I have no idea why. She was a mature female and only 2 1/2 years old. That makes 2 spiders I've lost unexplainably. :(

I just got another mature versi girl that I bred to my stud last night. That makes three females I have and one that a friend has that he's mated with. Hopefully some of them lay sacs. I'm going to start on round two with all of them next and see how long he makes it.

Sorry to hear you guys have lost your spiders. :( Even though they scare the stuffing out of me it's good to know someone loves them.

I don't actually know. I have 80+ widow slings and 2 more unhatched sacs, plus my tarantulas, trap door (who is a mature male now and will be pimped out on Wednesday), and other true spiders. It's so hard to keep track! Plus, I hopefully have some versicolor sacs on the way

Hav eyou gotten any new additions?

Hey yeah, how is that widow doing? I can't believe you got all those sacs. Make sure they don't escape like the mantids. :revenge:
