Introducing.... Severus DUW

Recently a forum member approached me with his skink; basically he's moving out of state to find work and couldn't bring his skinkster along with him. So he asked me if I'd be willing to take him, and of course, I said yes! So I got a year-old silver tanny, which is one of Ray's babies. I just gave him a home make-over, he had some dirt-like stuff in there before that just got all in his eyes and nose (there's still a little bit on him in these pics) so here he is!

His temperament is actually really great; he's a little huffy when I go to take him out, but otherwise he's fine. He's really fast compared to my northern, Blue who will just sit in the middle of the floor while I clean his cage.

Thankyou! Just go to Target and get some shelf liners; I use the adhesive kind on the back, and the non-adhesive (brown) on the bottom (that also keeps it a lot warmer in there for them). I just glued some fake plants I had in my basement on the walls. Easy peasy! :ohyes:

He is a real looker. The tank setup is great, if you look quick you would think he was just loose roaming around a room. Does he destroy the shelf liners or are they pretty tough? I love that idea.

He's mine forever and ever.

The shelf liners hold up just fine. Sometimes the bottom spongy one gets a little "thin" from my other skink digging in the corners, but that's not a big deal. I use it for my dragon too, and they clean up easy too, just some soap and water. After a bunch of cleanings, I just toss it away and cut a new one.

Glad you took the chap in! He is a cutie!
Love the shelf liner idea. My poor bluey has done without a background for so long that I will definitely try that. I have used seasonal wrapping paper but I never thought to use that! :doh: Great idea!
