Tiger Pinchy. My new friend.

I found this snail on the weekend, and I reckon it's the most stunning looking snail I've ever seen.

However, since I didn't find him on my property, I'm holding onto him for a few days in case he's poisoned. And that's the problem! For anyone who's a fan of the Simpsons, he's become my My Pinchy. I've really fallen for the little guy because he's so good looking. I talk to him and change his food twice a day and make sure he's kept in a cool part of the house. I now think he's too nice to be fed to a lizard! Poor little Tiger Pinchy!

Just thought I'd share him. Oh, and to ensure this is a lizard related post, I'll chuck a Ralphie & Santos in, too :lol:

Cute snail, i feel bad feeding them to my guys coz they are harmless little things, gentle too so i don't usually watch as they are eaten!

OMG, i love the skink picture, they look so sweet and innocent. Don't name the snail, then you can never feed it as food.

do you get the little white snails over there on fence posts and there shells are soft , the bobies crunch em down in 1 gulp :drool:

hmmmm me thinks u havnt seen many garden snails up your way lately lisa,lol,dead eye we get those whbite soft shell ones here in vic as well,there like small blobs of icecream for the stumpys when they find them,lol,im voting towards nuts,haha

LOL, Leigh they are only surviving, they aren't that bad. Just chew on a few plants and stuff...nothing major.

No Leigh, my attachments don't go down to well, there's a lot of rolled eyes in our household! I'm also told I'm 'insectis' as in racist, because I shed no tears over beetles and other insects.

I've always had a thing for snails, when we were kids we used to sing a Polish song to them to make them come out of their shells. One day my aunt was singing to one and my Dad came up and booted it straight out of her hand, it exploded in the air and the bits flew over the fence. That moment has stayed with me all these years :oi:

And yes, Rich, you're right. Only the second found this whole year. The previous found one was just the week before. Drought's really taking it's toll.

No Ian, we don't get soft white snails. Not that I've seen anyway. You'll have to send me a pic so I can look out for them if we get them here. If they do look like blobs of icecream then maybe I'll be eating them instead!

We do get lots of native snails, they've got flat shells that seem to be harder and they are smaller than a garden snail. They're kinda hard to spot but for some reason seem to be more prevalent than the garden ones. They're no Tiger Pinchy's but :wink:
