suprised skink

Postby gloom_kitty » Thu Oct 18, 2007 11:15 am

my cat is usually very good around my other pets. i wouldnt trust her on her own however. when loki is in his play pen she usually watches or walks round and round, sometimes trying to fit a furry paw through the bars. ignores him when she is dozing on the bed except the other night when loki was exploring at spped. her face when loki ran into her was priceless

loki got more than he bargined for though when he stopped moving about and after 5 mins the cat decided to make the toy move and backhanded (without claws) loki across the bed. he was a bit shocked to find himself going backwards at speed lol

I let my dog near my skinks when I'm watching, but only because she's such a coward she runs if they get within a few feet. It's so cute. Then again, my dog is more cat than anything, she chases bugs and birds and sits on the back of my couch looking out the window. And when she does go to sniff the skinks, they look up and she tucks tail and runs. I love inter-species interaction when it's done safely ^.^

That would end in tears at my house, with the cat being the winner.

Haha, my cats have the same reaction. They are very good with Maya -- although he's about 2 feet long now so they don't mess around with him, LOL!

Beautiful Cat Gloom. Looks like someone is only going to momentarily tollerate that skinker by the feline expression in the pix. Glad to hear Loki was not damaged.

I still can't get over how itty-bitty-small Loki is! He's like a miniature skink! Soooooo cute! My guy measures exactly 22 inches, from snout to tail tip. I've never had him meet any other critters face to face though.

thanks :D

loki is between 6 and 7 inches now and i cant wait till he is big lol

loki generally just ignores the cat, goes ape at the geckos though. i was holding them and showed them to loki through the glas of his viv and he charged the glass huffing and puffing. i think he was jealous because he doesnt react as bad when i show him them in their viv. i also introduced him to monster my newt. monster came upto the surface to check out loki and loki was excitedly tounging flicking. then loki decided to swim and took a plunge. they can swim better than i thought. stupid skink.
