I have never microwaved anything for LittleFoot....not even for defrosting....he has always had his squash raw or mashed (after its been boiled and cooled down) he loves it that way.

Mine seems to like (or doesn't mind) squash. It is always raw. Favorites are butternut, acorn, and chayote. I usually dice it up really small by hand. Grating it also works, because it sticks to everything.

My guys love squash. I've always just chopped it up small and mixed it in. The only things that get cooked are their meats.

Tis the season, try pumpkin! Mine love it; even that slimy gooey stuff inside.

We've microwaved acorn squash before to make it softer because sometimes we happen to get one's that are like bricks. We don't cook it though, just heat it up to make it soft.
