I was given a 18 month old Indonesian who wasn't handled much at all.
He was very jumpy when I first got him but I hold his daily for like 30 minutes and he has calmed down some.I am sure it will take a long time to get him calmed.
He was CB also and he is not WC.I don't know the sex,I just call it a him.
If he sees anyone he jumps around like a Mexican jumping bean.
He had no name but I named him Wiggles.

Nice Indo.
I have a cb Female, wich was to handle, but because i thought she
was gravid, later on, i dident handel her for 4-5 months. When i was
going to handel her again, she was a hardcore she devil, now she
wants to take a bite af me every time i open the tank

.
No fun to deal with, but I do keep me bts for breeding.
Only one out of 16 skinks is like that
congrats

Congrats, but just to let you know, it is most likely WC, there are almost no indo's bred in captivity. Many claim they are, and most likely, it was captive born, not captive bred.
Looks great though, I am partial to T. g. gigas

I thought it was WC but the owner said it was CB.He isn't the first owner so he could only go by what he was told.
I guess you never know what people will say to get rid of a lizard.

wow, i have an indo two. and the pet store lady said that hes just about in that age range. He looks exactly like him. I swear they could be litter mates. I'll post some pics in the next day or so. By the way, mine is tame and tamed very quickly after purchase, but he was in a freindly pet store with knowledgable staff for at least a month before i got him so they did alot of the hard work i think. I have a whole bunch of names for him but the one i like to call him the most is Rutherford B. Skink

No need for the

, you won't find cb indos anywhere, WC is the only source.
I love indos, I want another one one day, after I get a northern though.
I really want to try breeding indos also, I think humidity may be a breeding trigger.

I find it funny that considering how commoly indos are found in pet stores, no one seems to have a breeding pair. It's not like WC is the absolute end of the world, just think of it like a tanny with parasite problems. Once you fix the probable health issues, you just need to take a lot of time and patience to get it to enjoy spending time with you, or at least put up with it. Now a WC tanny? Think of it like a bomb with parasite problems.

If the skink is happy and healthy, and your happy with it, where it came from isn't such a big deal.

I do love the gloss black legs

, have you tried hand feeding a banana or some chicken, he'll calm down when he realises you're good for a snack and dont want to snack on him.
Have you got anything in the tank as substrate, he might be feeling threatened if he cant hide anywhere?

I generally agree, the only problem is that they are sold as if they are happy friendly reptiles ready to be great pets. Not only is that not true, but the care information given to customers is almost entirely false as well as the proper identification. On top of that, the means in which these animals are captured and shipped is appalling. So, generally speaking, if you have a happy skink, you're right, where it comes from is not a huge deal, but at the same time, don't support it!!
Welcome, Gennie! He looks like a fine Indo.

Zach, I agree with this 100% I wont buy the indo from my local store because I know it's WC and that it's way overpriced and in bad health. I'm not going to support these guys. My not a big deal thing was for this thread, where I don't want Gennie to be upset about the skinker's origins. She has it now, and so long as it's healthy, she should be happy.
