Hi everyone, I am a wildlife biology undergrad at University of Nevada Reno and for my 'animals in human cultures' class I am writing a paper about the cultural significance of blue tongue skinks in australian culture. I was wondering if any of the australians on this forum could help me and give me some information on the significance of the blueys in australia today and what is being done to protect this group of lizards. I've also been trying to find information on why Australia is so strict on exportation of it's wildlife. Any information anybody has would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Jessica

Good luck with your paper! The only thing I know about from Australia is Blue Tongue Beer and the book Pink Tongue, Blue Tongue. Oh, and if you figure out a way around those nasty export laws, send me a line
I'm sure the aussies will be able to tell you tons.
