Monkey Tail???

Hey does anyone know alot about Monkey tails or know where i can get some Good info on them i am loking at getting one. Ad does anyone know what the likely hood of getting one that is CB/CB! Thanks

I've seen them in pet stores locally for $400. They are amazing but I don't know much about them. You will need a large, arboreal cage. You are off topic but I won't tell! :lol: See if you can correspond with the herp keeper at the San Antonio, Tx Zoo. Theirs (Solom. Is. skinks---not keepers) are amazingly prolific so they must be doing something right. Good luck. Post pictures if you get one. Glad you are doing the research first!

Lucky! I've never even gotten to see one in person. They are essentially the only other reptile I've ever been interested in owning. Tigergenesis had one, and so did Blueyboy. Sadly, both passed away, but I'm sure either would be happy to offer information.

It seemed like Nomad knew a bit about where they came from and them possibly halting exportation (from the solomon islands) but I'm not sure if it was him or not.

Well, I know they come from the Solomon Islands, I'm pretty sure exportation has been stopped, thus why they are much more expensive then when they were imported more commonly.

I searched around for them a while back, trying to learn a bit about keeping them because they sound fascinating. In case you hadn't already heard this, they are also known as Prehensile tail skinks. Prehensile means having the ability to use something like a hand, or grip.

I looked at some pictures, and they just don't look very cute to me. Didn't go to many sites. What makes them so good that Zach, the Bluey-Lover, would go for them?

I did a search too coz i'd never heard of them and they look like cool little skinks!
I thought they were cute, especially a pic of a mum protecting her bub, her little pink tongue was sticking out and she looked too cute.

I saw that mom & baby picture too. It was cute, but nowhere near BTS cuteness. Then again, I may be biased. Or maybe I'm just trying not to like them so I don't get the urge to go buy some :lol: Bad enough with the skinks, the spiders, the bugs, and the various other herps I want (emerald swift, Viet Blue Beauty, Pink Tongues). Maybe I'm just doomed.

yeah, not here in the states.

They are cute, but a lot of work. I found most of my information on Kingsnake and various searches.
