Luke, some QLD easterns are quite pale and have little or no banding. And they're quite large. Am sure Pike has some like that.
If the one in this pic has eastern in it, then it came from a Queenslander
When I see or read the American easterns on here, I hear the eastern bit in my head in inverted commas.
It's not that I don't like them! I just don't consider them easterns. (I consider them "easterns"

)
Since there seems to be some acknowledgement that the majority of US easterns have been mixed with others over the years, I don't understand how in a thread the other week everyone was telling a guy not to breed his new acquisitions as they are most likely hybrids ... yet you folk over there sell easterns as easterns, instead of eastern x.
I worry that over here, as reptile keeping becomes more accesible and popular, people will start breeding easterns with northerns or westerns etc.
But having said that, I think they should just all be bluetongues skinks ... and that their colour and size variations are due to their locale.
So, you'd have a skink from the northern region, southern or southeastern region, etc but not necessarily a northern blue tongue skink.
In acknowledgement of my brain capacity, I like to keep things sssimple
