Dexter's new home! Fiiiiinally finished!

Postby KapperDK » Wed Dec 19, 2007 3:44 pm

Almost finished, just need a new hiding place / cave for him and a proper water bowl instead of that shiny metal cat water bowl thing he got right now.. :D

Some pics, of course, I hope you like it as much as Dexter.
:D

Merry x-mas all!

That enclosure looks great! :ohyes:

Where did you get the background? Keep an eye on him with climbing. I had something not even that climb-able and my bluey climbed right up to the top. A little too close to the light for me. I removed the background after that.

If he climbs this background, I'm actually going to be proud of him since it's an aquarium back-drop bought by the meter on a roll from the local pet shop. hmmm... come to think of it, he HAS shown ninja-like skills in the past (past being the over-all time I've had him, about a month, haha)... better watch out!!

Excellent setup.

Eventually you may find through future cleaning the disadvantage of such large bark with bluey poos and messes. Be careful of water oversplash with bark, because large chunks such as that may soak up and hold water rather than wick it away. This could cause molding, which isn't good.

Otherwise I'm jealous of the setup. It's an ideal design.

In a local pet shop, after having searched the interweb for days without any luck. It was at that point I realised I was too hooked on the interweb.
But the local shop had it. :)

length x depth x height

130cm x 60cm x 50cm = 390 litres

about

51.1" x 23.6" x 19.7" = 103 gallons

love the decor

Postby aggiegirl » Sat Dec 29, 2007 9:13 pm

I need to redecorate when my bluey gets up from brumation. Could you please tell us which shop or (better yet) the maker of that background? It does look three dimensional. I love the whole tank and decor. That is first rate!
