So, I was looking for websites of reptile breeders in Indiana and I found this website. Apparently they put on reptile shows to inform the public about "the ecology, conservation and general biology of reptiles." They then list the animals they have along with a short description and a picture. I find this one humorous, yet sad.

**Picture of Gigas species BTS Here**
Arrow, a cute little Aussi, is a Gigas Blue Tongue Skink (Tiliqua scincoides). These are a great beginner lizard; they are easy to handle and feed. Greens and superworms are the staple diet, with the occasional fruit as a treat. They only reach about 24 inches long. Their short stubby legs and long chubby belly are an odd but adorable combination.
I think I will contacting them to inform them of what BTS they actually have and maybe to improve the diet a little bit.
I just find it sad that they are trying to educate people about reptiles, yet they dont even know what kind they have!
Here is the "company's" website:

It's frightening how many "educational" sources are inaccurate. Read this sign from my local zoo.

EGGS?????? How Retarded can you get! And a Zoo no less!
You need to call the director of that zoo and help them to get a clue! Especially as zoos are huge sources of education in this country of exotic species!
Brad, I tried surfing that Monty site for the Bluey pic, and I found it a pain in the tail to navigate, and so I never even found the bluey pic/information!
I may just send him an email telling him to fire his website designer, because its total crap thats really hard to navigate, let alone the misinformation on there! That black cobra on the green background was hella distracting!
I wanna help them!

I also found the Monty site annoying, so I gave up on it.
As for the zoo, I sent them a letter last summer and never heard back.

Marie, I say a herd of us make a road trip to that zoo and set fire to that stupid sign! Eggs. . .
Tam, great minds think alike!
I've been wondering where my twin ended up!
Brad, thanks for the link, I found it in the end. I wrote to them and let them know they had an Indonesian, and what greens to feed it as well as what not to feed. Also told them to feed snails and silkworms.
I haven't heard back, but I referred them to this site/caresheets for info/research.
We'll see!

I haven't, and I mine was very polite. I also complimented them on their rescue work etc. I feel that you can make people less defensive, and more open if you mask a critique with a compliment.

mine was very polite as well. Thanking them for doing rescue work as well as doing public awareness "shows" for the schools and what not. I guess they really dont care if they are giving out the wrong info.
