First welcome to BTS.net.
Second take a look at the caresheet. It is advised to never house more than one blue tongue in a single cage. They live alone in the wild. Seeing how BTS are mostly terrestrial, the 33" tall is really almost wasted space. The footprint 30" by 30" is ok for 1 BTS.

The tank sounds like a good size (a little tall but okay if you're using the space to mount lights) for one bluey but I wouldn't recommend housing them together.
BTW, welcome!

how's it mate, have you done all the research you can? There's a caresheet here thats very good for newbies,it will give you all the advice you could wish for on BTS care and read the food charts for proper dietry needs. The sizes you give would be fine for an adult skink, will you be making the tank/enclosure yourself, or are buying something purpose built? Most people will agree when I say that you can't give them a tank too big,a lot of people's measure around L36"xW24"x H24" it will depend on bugget, available space and personal preference as to what you get.Mines a front opening not a top entry style.
Do you know what sort you'll be getting? There is also a section in the main site with pictures and references to different kinds of Blue tongues.
When you get your new buddy, you'll get asked more often than not for photo's, we love 'em.
Everyone else will pipe up with other info for you,as the day goes on, where in the world are you ,as this will make a BIG difference as to what you'll be able to own/purchase.

Hello and

Like everyone said ... read the care sheet (read it till your eyes cross) and you will be well on your way. Don't forget those pictures!

Welcome!
Agree with all the previous comments. And, profit from our mistakes as well... Tall tanks just mean you waste more electricity because your heat lamp and UV bulbs just need to be stronger/more costly (unless you can suspend them in the tank--which is risky.) Buy a shorter tank and you will save yourself alot of money down the line. I feel like my 7 month old Northern has already outgrown his 40 gallon breeder tank. Buy the right tank and you'll save yourself another purchase down the line. Try posting an ad on craigslist or calling reptile shops for used ones to save some serious cash!

BTS are generally ground dwelling critters. Don't add anything too high, as they're prone to just walking over the edge -.-'
If your going to have extra levels, make sure the ramp has good grip, and that there isn't a way for the skinker to fall and get hurt.
Good on you to be planning ahead!
