Which type of calcium?
Which calcium should I use on Hershal's food?
These are the two I have right now. One I use for the leopard gecko and the tree frog .. the other for my water dragon.
Okay ... the one I use for the leopard gecko and tree frog is Rep-Cal Phosphorus-Free, Calcium with VIT.D3, Ultrafine Powder, For all Reptiles and Amphibians.
The other one that I use for my water dragon says this ... Zoo Med Reptivite, Reptile Vitamins .. that is all that one says on the front cover thingy.
So should I use the calcium that I use for my tree frog and leopard gecko, or the one I use for my water dragon?
Thanks a bunch.
Emma

How about none?
Feed every meal with some fresh collard greens and you won't need to "supplement".
Remember, supplements are meant to replace something that is missing in the diet. Feed fresh foods that already have it in it! Unless that's impossible...?
But if you have absolutely no choice, then canned powder it is.

Do you have any Super Walmart's on your area?
I have found that the ones near me have VERY convenient plastic sealed bages of pre-shredded Collard Greens...just a thought...but dandelion greens work, too!

If you happen to have eggs, keep the shells, clean them, and crush em up. This is a great source of calcium. Also, feed snails whenever you get the chance, good eats and high calcium.

You can feed them eggs in any way. If you really want a good show, just give em the whole egg, uncooked. Eggs can be fed raw, scrambled, boiled, over easy, etc. Just remember that the egg is a treat, but the shell can be used anytime for good calcium.

He'll make a mess, I guarantee it. Probably best to take him out of tank and do it somewhere easy to clean.

Just a note, this is basically the same as using a HIGH QUALITY calcium powder. Rep-cal is made from ground oyster shells.
A POOR QUALITY calcium will be made of bone meal, and riddled with nasty phosphorus.

I got some from a forum member here, reptayls, as they make it themselves and its great. Morgana traded me some Eggshell Calcium and roaches for some of our products a year or so ago and I'm still using it. She hasn't been on in a while, though.
