Thanks! He likes the tree too. It has a good size hide built in to the bottom.
As to the other question, I got him at my local Petco. I know that most folks are not fans, but he was very well taken care of and completely spoiled by the woman in charge of their reptile section. I've been keeping an eye on him for quite a while. She was literally fighting off tears when I bought him. I was going to go to Regal Reptiles in RI, but fell in love with this guy. He's really used to people and being handled. He went straight up to my shoulder and hung out on the back of my neck as soon as I picked him up. I was surprised that the other employees there actually came over to say goodbye to him.

I third the sentiments on the fake tree. Your bluey looks curious about it as well. :btsnet:

It's nice to hear about pet stores that care. I got my northern from a pet store. The guy knew almost nothing about them, he was just following the care off the papers that came with the skink. I gave him lots of info, gave him this site, and he worked at improving the condition. He also began to question the care pages he'd been given on some of his other animals too. He was a great guy, and I'm not upset I got Pryce from him.

Do you know what his diet was like at the store? Just because people care, doesn't mean they knew what they were doing. And since it's an Indo, it's likely wild caught or Captive Born (WC pregnant mom), so take it to a vet and get a check and a fecal done. Good luck!

I went over the diet and feeding schedule and she was spot on. They have had him for a long time at that location. I've been looking at him for months, and they have had him for about 8 months. If they were the same price as normal beardies they would never last that long. Thanks again!

Thanks everyone. After researching on the net i'm thinking that he is a Merauke. I know that there is not a big difference between them and Indos. He's really well tempered and full of personality, so I really don't care much as I won't be breeding.

There is very little difference between baby indos and baby meraukes, but this guy has solid front legs and the outlines on the head scales are very clear, so I'd say Indo. And you may not want to breed now, but later... Either way you'll be able to tell when he's older for sure. He's pretty though.
