Postby jasjmm27 » Fri Feb 15, 2008 11:59 pm

I still have not settled on a name for him...just got him Wednesday and still letting him settle in and "relax", these are photos I got of him the day I got him...poor little guy seems to have had a bit of a rough trip (soiled his bag/box).

Here he is!

:D Thanks Shingleback! Your great pictures and stories of Lilly virtually forced me to fulfill my childhood dreams! :) I hope to have some similar occurrences with my own little boy! ;) He seems to be very active and inquisitive...though he slept most of today! (it is raining here now) ;)

I will never understand how someone can let such a rare and expensive animal grow nails like that.

Nice pickup though!

Yeah...that seems to be a common problem with Shingles! I really don't get it, but I will be taking care of it once I feel that he has settled in and can handle a bit more stress...seems like he is OK now, but I will give him a few more days. :)

Oh, one quick question...this little guy seems to sleep "out in the open" just next to a wall only half, or 1/3 buried...is that normal? Celeste says I am worrying too much, but I just want to make sure! :) He has 3 hiding spots to go to and more then 2 inches of substrate to burrow into...

He hid the first night but last night and tonight he just "chose a wall" and fell asleep...is that normal?

:D GREAT! That is very comforting to know...and it makes sense...I was installing his UVB bulb and he just opened one eye now and again to see what I was doing DIRECTLY above him! It was great! :D I think I will enjoy him VERY much! :)

Thanks for easing my concern on that little topic... ;)

Awesome little guy! I will be honest and say that shingles are not my favorite BTS, HOWEVER, I would buy one simply for their face! They look all sweet and innocent!

This is me, extremely jealous! Congrats, and in order for me to live vicariously through you and your new driveway turd, you will be required to post many many photos. Yay for you! Any luck with the name?

I will apologize again for the nails...as I mentioned, I just got him and am going to let him "chill out" for about a week before I pull him out and start trimming nails, etc. I was going to wait for his peticure to take pictures...but it seems that there was a requirement to post what I have! ;)

At any rate, he's a great little guy and I will be naming him soon (not quite yet, but getting closer) and hoping to take him out and give him a good once over. :)

How adorable!

If you haven't named him yet... I suggest 'Wraith' or 'Shadow.'
