I almost came home with 2 Centralians. Only reasons I didn't was the price and the fact I have nothing to house them in. They were $450 each. They had 5 of them, 1 of which was not for sale due to an eye infection. Looked like it was suffering with substrate in the eye.

I went to do my trusty sexing technique on them and I came away with the conclusion that it's impossible to sex centralians like I sex easterns and blotchies. They seem to be alot Thicker than a blotchie or an eastern - by that I mean they are tighter skinned and not so soft.

Anyway - The guy said he'd hold onto them - and if and when i get the money to give him a call.

Maybe i can hit them up for a cheaper price for 2? hehehe wishful thinking.

GET EM! :D I want to see more Centralian pics around here! ;) I hear they are more shy then most other blueys, though? What was your impression while interacting with them?

My impression was that they are shy. They cowered when they were approached, mind you I was told by the guy that they were skittish, which I thought was a load of BS. Funnily a couple peed on him, but none of them peed on me - probably cuz i handled them properly yet he let their legs hang.

They are alot shorter in length than a blotchie or an eastern. The tails are very short in comparison. Head size it alot different too. Just how you see in pics, the heads are big and bulky. In regards to the abdomen, they are "fatter" than a blotchie or eastern, and they are also tighter to touch as I said earlier. I'd get them if i knew for sure that they had a male and female, but in 4 months he said there has been no mating signs, and I saw now scars on them either.

I was at Fish and Feather the other day they had a group of four adults selling the lot for $800. (yeh I ammended this my memory was giving out, it was $800 but still $200 each for Centralians not bad). I was considering myself but I would have to keep them outdoors probably not a good idea even in Northern Victoria.

$450 is heaps too much to pay for them, you should be able to get them for under half that.

I was thinking that $450 was too much to pay for centralians, I was expecting more around the $300 mark. They were around 4 years old the guy said, but he didn't really have a clue - it was a guess on size. They didn't look too old, around 4 years did look about right - but who knows?

I thought the humidity would be too much for them down where you are Luke?

In the wild yeah, too humid, too cold too!

But with Vivs you can simulate its natural environment so they'd be cool.
