MY BABY IS HERE!!!!!!!~~~~

Postby Raven_Vivi » Tue Feb 19, 2008 12:06 pm

I finally got my skink today~~

I came home early from school because I was sick and the box came right as I came in.

I think I'm supposed to leave him alone for a day before I try any handling.

He hissed at me when I tried to pet him ;_;

He's sneezing a lot...is that bad?

NICE! can't wait to see more pictures! Looks like a nice, healhy Northern! Is he/she a "caramel" type/coloration?

I would let him be for a few days...but that is up to you...and the skink. If he/she doesn't hide or run away, but will come to the glass to be picked up...then it should be OK to "have at it", but I still like to give them a few days...just for good measure.

Nice Northern. Sneezing is normal with Blueys. Unless he is sneezing constantly all day long he should be fine. Don't worry if he doesn't eat or poop for a few days ... relocation is rather stressful and they need time to adjust. Good luck and we need more pictures! :wink:

He's Super cute!
I love him, lol. I don't know about cool name suggestions but mine is Chomper like the baby trex on land before time. and if it wasnt Chomper it would be Yoshi because he has a y pattern on his back..and sometimes he reminds me of yoshi from the movie.

he's a little under a year~

I'm thinking I'll just say he's a year and make it his birthday ^_^

Any suggestions on how i start handling him??

He's a little hissy when i pet him ;_;
Any methods to get my bluey to come out of the tank willingly and cuddle?? ;D

PS. He keeps trying to climb the walls trying to get at his reflection...I covered up the glass but you can still see the reflection and he keeps climbing the wall..T^T

Any suggestions?

He certainly lives up to his new name cause he is so cute, I would give him a couple of days to get used to his new home just do the normal each day feed and water him and let him get used to you then just go for it and pick him up, that was the advice I was given and it worked my Ocho loves coming out now and I have only had him since last Friday. yep Sue's right, it's the moment of hesitation before picking them up, that can make it stressful. Once you've got him out you can handfeed some banana (THEY LOVE IT) or other food, it can be useful to associate 'play time' with something yummy :D gd luck with your baby, and i am loving the name ^.^
