The only thing that says Northern to me is the clean front legs. Looks IJ pattern wise. Odd little muffin ... but cute.

Mom22wins Northern Sammy:

The skink in question:

putting them together they look simillar - but i see the slight differences.

Also - in regards to colouring - it's clear to see that the 2nd pic is much brighter due to flash - compare the colours of the hands - Zachs palm is browner, the other is pale. Lighting issues!

Mind you Moms Northern was questioned my both andrew and myself - however the latter shots confirm easily that it's a northern.

Sorry Blotch, but I seriously don't think this is in any way a northern. IJ all the way.

This your time Luke? Well there's pills, and don't forget to shower, wouldn't want to get a fishy smell. I can offer you chocolate if it'll help the cramps...

What!

Any baby BTS can be hard to distinguish. I think next year I'll take the pictures a little bit later, as a lot of the pictures from 2007 were only a couple days old. When babies are born, they're almost always the same color and take a couple weeks to start looking "normal". Even Kei Islands look identical to Indos when they're born....

The animal is an IJ.

No Zach, we love baby pictures. Take both, days old and weeks old. Babies are so cute.
