tail whipping.

Postby Helikaon » Thu Feb 28, 2008 1:29 am

hey everyone. just wondering if anyone has experienced a male bluetongue tail whip when introduced to another male. i just introduced a young blue tongue who i suspect to be female into my colony and when she met the boy she tail whipped. so basically seeing if tail whipping is a pretty sure sign of sex.

cheers
H.

i think you guys call it tail twitching on here. behaviour of the female to entice the male. so rephrase of question do only females do this or has someone witnessed a male behave in this way also.

Young males will also do this to another male so he does not percieve him as a threat. It is normally followed by a slow backing up and getting away. When females do this it is not normally followed by running away. At least this has been my experience.

Yeh my young male Eastern does it to me just before he bolts or goes into a hissy fit.
