Wow...Giggy is a coward!

Postby NiftyJosh » Thu Feb 28, 2008 9:03 am

Figured I would be adventurous and introduce Giggy to my male Schneider (who has now been named daddy because of his gravid mate) and Giggy doesn't know what to do!!

When Giggy is loose in the room, she tries and tries to get into the Schneider cage when they are out and about so I figured it was time for a meeting. I put Giggy and Daddy on the floor a few feet apart from each other and they just stared each other down for a few minutes with no threat or defensive display show. Then Daddy took one step towards Giggy and she was off to the races!!!

She ran right up onto the bed and went under her favorite pillow!!!

I wish I had a video camera on me but it was in the car.

I have to say you're probably lucky your skink was frightened and not aggressive. Schneider skinks are small, and a single bite from a BTS could be deadly.

In regards to size, my medium sized dog is terrified of my lizards  She's also scared of bags, shadows, and pretty much everything. Good thing she's scared though, she's not allowed near by skinks unless I'm holding them.

Please keep safety of your animals in mind before deciding to let them interact. I don't want to hear sad stories :(
