I assumed from this that this person had been in possession of the skink for no more than a few months and that the mouthrot was well on it's way to mending. I think this was a good assessment based on the information I had...
Here is what I found when I saw the animal (soft stomachs and hearts may wish to look away)
It turned out this person had had the animal for 2 YEARS with mouthrot the whole time!
It seems it was fed mostly babyfood and table scraps. It is missing several toes and all it's claws are damaged because of the piles of stuck shed on them. I almost turned around back to my car but couldn't stand the thought of this poor animal going to someone who may be just as ignorant of their care.
To top this all off, I was told I was getting a 60 gallon breeder tank fully outfitted. It is a 40 gallon lined with dirty carpet, a log, some feeding saucers, lights and several jars of baby food, and some extra indoor out door carpet.
And the real kicker? This person is a vet tech!
On a slightly cuter note, it's horrible and I had the flash on but I got a tongue shot already! It does have a very sweet temperment though a bit skittish, I think with some TLC she will be a lovely, sweet skink.

I'm very glad that he's now with you. I look foward to seeing pictures of him improving with your love and care.
