He/she is eating quite well I have been weighing the food before and after to get an idea of how much she's been taking in last night she took about 6g in.

As for the eyes, I think the problems are from shed that was stuck and the mouth infection irritating them and making them water, then the water would just sit on the skin and cause more inflamation thus perpetuating a vicious cycle.

Before he died, my Quigly was having somewhat similar problems with his eyes and it was because of stuck shed irritating them. I couldn't even see the shed on the lids until I took a wet washrag and gently rubbed over the lids and the shed slid off. After that they were beautiful. I can send you some pictures of what he looked like with the eye problem and after I got the shed off if you would like.

Luce, yes, please post those pics, if nothing else, for showing people what it might look like so they know what to watch out for in their skinkers.

Fantastic job with Quinn, by the way! You're right, better and better!

Oh my goodness, these pictures just frustrate me. I just don't understand how someone could look at that poor thing and think, yep, looks good.
I'm so glad your taking care of him. Looks to be getting much better. I'm glad your updating often too. It's nice to see the changes.

umm - did you see the original Pictures?

In comparison, these pics look like a different bluey. Quinn looks a HEAP better now than she did 2 weeks ago.

I have been keeping up with this story, all be it a bit silently.
He is looking so much better than the first pictures you put up, its a bit unbelieveable that someone could own him for such a long time and not think to do anything about his obvious suffering..

Do you think the mouth will heal fully or will it leave scarring or anything?

after a shed or two the scales will probably start looking normal again. I think quinn is a very lucky guy to have found you cause there are probably hundreds of others out there in the same condition without any help.

PsyKoViggy I do believe there will be scarring. It would be hard to see the damage to her and think otherwise. I didn't tell everyone what happened the first time I cleaned her face off, I was using a soft brush moistened with betadine and water to get the crusty stuff and shed off her face and a couple of large chunks of what I thought was shed came off.

**Graphic Description Warning**
At that point though I realized it was a few of her actual scales and they were nothing but mush the infection was up under them and there was serum and pus under them almost like an abcess, and it had rotted the scales away from underneith. I spent almost an hour cleaning it out after that.
**Graphic Description Warning**

There is almost no way for her body to heal that perfectly though. So I would be surprised beyond anything if there was no scarring. It's okay though after what she's been through a little scar won't take away from her beauty.

On a side note, I just realized I keep calling it a she even though I highly suspect it's a male. Oh well.

I will continue updating, though I think it's just a matter of time to heal now. I'm not finding any signs of infection anymore and all the dead flesh has been removed. What little blood there is when I clean it runs clear. I believe I have all the shed off her toes as well and a couple sheds will have those right again. The raw skin patches where I took some of the shed off have scabbed up nicely and though there is some flaky skin in spots I can't find anymore shed. Ill post up some more pictures a little later, I have usually been takingpictures after her soaks and cleanings, and before the antibiotic goo, before but with all the shed gone I don't see much reason for soaks right now so some of these new pictures will be with out soaking and pre cleaning. They will look a little worse because of a little serum thatcollects at the edge of the wounds and dries but you will still be able to see the improvements.

Wow, this has turned into a ramble...

I was going to add also that my experience with Quinn has me thinking about going back to school to finish my veterinary degree and specializing in herps most especially BTS.

I guess it could be a good thing to have a BTS specialist vet....

An awesome thing, but a skill that would be rarely used in person! (BTS specialist vet). Not to discourage you or anything. :) But who cares, reptile vet it is!
