So basically - your chances of getting a blotchy in the States are Extremely slim to none.

I have 7 of them By the way!

Geof Has a Bunch and so does Richard, Colin, and Scott.

Just thought I'd rub it in a bit. :P All in good fun!

There are still a few people in the US who breed them. However the only one I is breeding this year for sure isn't selling the babies.

Not really. There are usually several posted through out the year on Kingsnake.com. They arent too common, but they arent as rare as Centralians, Westerns, etc are in the US.

If someone is really interested in getting a Blotchy, their best bet would be to get in contact with one of the larger BTS breeders (Ray, Andrew, etc) that have connections with many other breeders. Im sure they would be more than happy to head you in the right direction to get a Blotchy

the rarity coupled with the cost over there I would think would make it hard to get one. Unless of course you're a bluey nut like Andrew!

If someone really wanted one, it wouldnt be too hard to get one here in the US. But of course an Aussie knows more about the availability of animals in the US than an American

They are one of the more uncommon species in the US, but they arent unheard of. If someone has the money and willing to pay the price, it wouldnt be that hard to find one.

There are about 8 to 10 people with pairs here that are working with them. The only problem is nobody has had any luck here in several yrs. The other problem is most of the ones that end up for sale here are older animals that keep changing owners every couple of yrs.

which means if there are 10 people in the whole of the US that have pairs - there are only 20 blotchies in the states. if those people are working with them trying to breed - the likliness of someone just being able to go buy one or a pair is improbable. Therefore my earlier statement of "So basically - your chances of getting a blotchy in the States are Extremely slim to none." is pretty smack on.

I'm not saying it's impossible - but the opportunities are gonna be Very few and far between - making the chances slim to none.

Probably can't breed them cos they treat them like Northerns. I would think that in an outdoor enclosure in Calif or somewhere similar they would breed like rabbits like they do in Aus.

yeah i expected more than 20 - was just using that as a number. I still say it would be pretty hard to get a hold of one. You'd need to look around and be lucky. The best person to ask would be Andrew or Ray - and Andrew would still probably be the best cuz he just sold 4 a few months back.
