Shedding Question

Postby luckyblue » Tue Mar 11, 2008 12:21 am

Just wondering if there's anything else i can use in the help of shedding other than the stuff you buy in stores??

We have 'Australian Skin' at the moment but i was wondering if people use anything just from home that is more effective?

Thanks.

Thanks guys.

They're not particularly having trouble shedding, its just little bits around the tiny little feet that bother me. We'll see how they go over the next couple days otherwise ill give them a little bath.

Yeah well we have 4 bubs who have mostly just completed their first shed.. a couple moving on to a second. Ive just noticed that once they get their body shed off - their feet shed seems to stay on a lot longer. Apart from that they're doing well. Growing soooooooooo quickly!

I just supply a shallow bowl of water at shed time , he soaks his feet whilst lying in it and the shed comes off as he roams around, tugging can tear the scales underneath if well attached.
MMMmmmmm... Something???????

When chomper even gets near shed time(when I notice he gets dull and dark) I made him a little humidity box since the ones at the stores I see are too small for him to be comfy in. I got a tupperware container and cut a hole for him to crawl in through. Then I put damp papertowels and even spray it a bit with the mister. Then I put it under his heat light. If he wants to bask he can just crawl on top of it, but most the time he is sitting inside it with his nostrils poking out for what I'll assume is so he can get some not so humid air. I'll get a picture next time he ventures towards a shed.
I then give him a little bath in the tub(he hates it) so I don't do it often, only if I notice a little problem with some shedding

I let Tattoo do his little wild dance and shed then I pick him over. He usually gets a quick soak and a toe tickle to be sure all toes and tail are shed free. I have used shed ease but we have good humidity in Vermont so water does the job quite well. :D
