i believe in the careguide it said that organic baby food is OK.
Just watch for preservatives I guess.

However, my skinky doesn't like food that is total mush. He likes chunks. But perhaps your skink will like it. ^^

Also, don't feed him JUST baby food. He needs other foods too~

I just stocked up on baby food today because we may have the syringe feed two new rescue skinks, and it seemed like a healthy choice (along with good quality cat food).

The brand I bought is called Earth's Best Organic, and the ingredients for the squash one is: Winter squash, water. I think as long as there isn't preservatives in it, then it should be alright, but fresh veggies and fruit is always preferable.

I'd be interested to find out what others have to say though!

Side question: I bought a couple a couple baby foods that include chicken and turkey - in addition to veggies and meat one contains barley flour and one contains rice flour. Anyone know if these are alright in small quantities?

If your feeding baby food ,keep an eye on the mouth area as it can stick and cause mouthrot if unattended for a while, you may be lucky and have a skink that wipes his mouth off after a meal, some do...
MMMmmmmm... Something???????

Please refer to the posts about my Quinn. He was fed exclusively on babyfood and table Scraps and that had a lot to do with His mouth problems.

In small amounts, as a treat, babyfood is fine but not as a staple.

Besides feeding babyfood is all cooked too. Cooking causes a loss of nutriants.

If feeding baby food, make sure to wipe it off after the meal. Other than that it's all been said.

baby food is fine as a staple - as long as other things are added to it that they can actually bite and not just lick up. As Lucifer said - just baby food and the odd table scraps is not a good idea and her Quinn is proof of that.
