Substrate thickness?

Postby PinkPunisher » Wed Mar 26, 2008 8:05 pm

I just went through the care sheets and i can't find out how deep the substrate should be, its probally in there but for the life of me i can't find it  So if you guys could tell me that would be great.

The reason I'm asking is because I'm making a 4x2x2 cage for a future BTS that i plan on getting at a expo hopefully and i wanted to know how much room i should have before the viewing window :)

Thanks,
Spencer

1-2 inches of substrate works well. If you have a baby, use less, as it can be hard to find them in deep substrate. Keep in mind they will also re-arrange it to suit themselves, so you could end up with larger piles in some areas. I'm building some 4x2 tanks right away, and the plan is to have a 3 inch lip for substrate.
