Jazmin and boy in 100 gallon
Do you think they (Jazmin and the new guy) could be housed together successfully in a 100 gallon? I want to take him in from this guy becaseu he doesnt really show him any love but I cant add another tank, only replace one (Jazmin's current) for the 100 gallon. Thanks guys for helping me with this decision.

i cant think of the size of a 100 gallon tank,in australia we say length by width by height, what species is the bluey/blueys its not impossible to house them together, but every skink is different, hence why u need to be extremely careful,if i was going to house them together,id want them to live in a cage at least 4 foot by 2 foot wide, preferably 6 foot by 2 foot wide,if i knew they were compatible the 4 footed length would be fine, the thing is u need to supply them multible hides so they can get away from each other, and u have to be sure that one doesnt dominate the other,eg,keep it from the basking spot ect, then you have the actual possability of aggression to worry about, some blueys just want to hurt the other,so my suggestion is if u decide to do it,keep a really close eye on them to be sure theres no sign of stress ect

They are Irian Jayas. I think theyre like 72 inches by 19 inches.
Also, I was wondering what happens when the babies come out, will the mom or dad attack them if your not there?

according to the blue tongue bible, blotchys are highly aggressive,i havnt found that with my lot,im not sure on the behaviours of the indo species, but if there anything like northern blueys,id be very careful housing them together,in regards to one having babies, they should be fine, there have been instances of babies being eaten by adults but its not common,i wouldnt leave them in with the adults though,as they are tiny in comparison and could get squashed or bitten over food ect

I agree, get a divider in the tank. Duct tape a piece of cardboard in there if need be.

Yeah I haven't had problems with my blotchies. Although i do have 2 in particular that are overly aggressive. but 2 out of 7 aint bad.
I housed my Blotchies with easterns or just blotchies. The blotchies were cool together and so were the easterns.

I think that the same rules apply to a 100g as do to the 40g. Its still a risk, and one that I personally wouldn't take.
As long as your friend is taking care of the basic needs of the bluey, the lizard probably doesn't care that he isn't getting a lot of "love." I have 3 blueys that I adore, but I don't handle very often. All except for the youngest are still puppy dog sweet, and he's getting better as I've started to handle him every day.
I would not risk the safety of your current bluey in order to "rescue" another one and compromise the health of them both.

Hes not really a friend, more of an aquaintance. The reason I want to take him in is they (the brothers) were contemplating taking him back to the pet store that hes been at for about a year and a half in a 20 gallon. Also, when they took him to my house, they stuffed him in a backpack and rode their bicycle here in about 30 degrees weather outside. I just think he needs a comfortable home finally.
I chose to use the two 40 gallons. I figured out a way to make it work. Im taking from them the bluey, a 40 gallon tank, and 80 dollars cash for two juvenile bearded dragons (I breed them). I think its a pretty good deal and I am comfortable that they will provide a good home for them because they are interested in them, for some reason the bluey "bored" them and that was the main reason of the lack of effort to give him a good home. They really like beardies and they already have the setups with tile and everything.
Im happy with my decision. Especially since they tried to mate right away when I put them together. They shold work out well.
Oh and I forgot to mention that they didnt even name him yet.
. I know its not a big deal but I believe that by naming your pet it acts as a final welcome into the home. So the fact that they didnt name him even proves the fact more that they didnt really want him. I think Im going to call him Aladen or Prince Alee. So itd be Aladen and Jazmin.

I'm sure you'll take care of him lots and lots~
