Hates change?

Postby Lizardqueen&Chuckie » Sun Mar 30, 2008 1:34 am

I recently adjusted my bluey's basking spot, because the one before was temporary, and just a box type thing.

anyways, he never seems to use it. its just a pretty flat rock over two other rocks, but he spends all his time on the ground underneath. He's been pretty lethargic too lately, I was thinking maybe it because he hasn't been basking enough. He been alot less responsive when i stroke him when he's in the tank too. I will post some pics, I know its not very useful without them, but i can find the card reader, when i do, ill post :D

If the temps are too low, he may not have the energy to even climb the rocks. However, I'll also say that my tanimbar Wocket never uses his basking rock, he'll sit beside it (better cover) instead. Pryce has the exact same set up, and uses his rock frequently.

Mine seems to slow as he walks by his rock and climbs over ir now and then, but I dont see him sprawled out basking either, yeh a shed has the answer to many "my skink isn't/does't " questions.

He'smuch lighter in colour now, and extreeeemely smooth. :)
I cleaned out his tank to get rid of the old skin, and now he's being a spaz. rubbing his nose on everything, doing laps digging etc...

thanks for the help

Yarp, you gotta be extra careful picking up a weighty one straight after a shed - they slide right through your fingers if you're not careful. I did that once with one of my heftier ones (I didn't mention any names.....Ralphie...), but all he did was sink head first into the lounge

Heh, yeah I noticed, he was much harder to contain. He is usually very wrigly and hissy when i bring him out, and settles down after a while. :P
